Softball Recap: Wright City Wildcats vs. North Callaway Thunderbirds
Wright City extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-5. They lost 10-0 to the North Callaway Thunderbirds. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunderbirds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in September.
As for North Callaway, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Considering they have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
For North Callaway's part, Sophia Olsson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI Olsson has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyson Gordon, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Looking ahead, Wright City will head out to face off against Hermann at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Bearcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for North Callaway, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 23-6 defeat against Hallsville on the 4th.
