Basketball Recap: Madyson Brownawell and Molly Kimmel Secure Win for Boiling Springs

On Saturday, the Boiling Springs Bubblers were able to grind out a solid victory over the Hershey Trojans, taking the game 43-30. Given the Bubblers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Trojans are ranked 552nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Boiling Springs was led to victory by Molly Kimmel and Madyson Brownawell. Kimmel almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards, while Brownawell posted ten points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds. Brownawell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 27 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Berrier, who had four points and five assists.

Boiling Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matchups.

Boiling Springs pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Hershey, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boiling Springs will square off against Susquehanna Township at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Boiling Springs is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. Hershey has already played their next game (against Palmyra), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
