Baseball Recap: St. Edward Comes Up Short

After flying high against Walther Christian Academy on Tuesday, St. Edward came back down to earth. The Green Wave took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Larkin Royals on Saturday. The Green Wave were not able to make up for their defeat to the Royals from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Anthony Leadley made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season. Zachary Lombardo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. Edward's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Larkin, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

St. Edward has already played their next contest, a 12-2 defeat against Wheaton Academy on the 13th. As for Larkin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Ridgewood on the 16th.
