Soccer Recap: Cardinal Newman Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Cardinal Newman challenged Analy on Thursday. The Cardinal Newman Cardinals fell just short of the Analy Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Cardinal Newman and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Analy, they now have a winning record of 4-3-2.

Cardinal Newman and Analy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Cardinal Newman (ranked 507th) will meet Marin Catholic (ranked 202nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Analy will take on Ukiah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 264 places (438 vs. 174).
