Football Game Preview: Christ Prep Academy Patriots vs. Field Kindley Golden Tornado

The Christ Prep Academy Patriots will challenge the Field Kindley Golden Tornado at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Christ Prep Academy has six straight wins, Field Kindley has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Christ Prep Academy is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Caney Valley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Patriots blew the Bullpups out of the water with a 41-8 final score. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

Christ Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Timothy Edwards led the charge by rushing for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 55 receiving yards. That's the most rushing touchdowns Edwards has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Justice Criniere, who rushed for 57 yards and a pair of TDs.

Another reason for the win was Christ Prep Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Samuel Savenok, Daniel Savenok, and Canaan Cowden, who each picked up one sack apiece. Christ Prep Academy got some further help from Samuel: he picked up a sack, forced two fumbles, and made ten total tackles.

Meanwhile, Field Kindley fell victim to Independence and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Bulldogs and fell 38-0. Golden Tornado fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bulldogs since Friday.

Field Kindley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Christ Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Christ Prep Academy strolled past Field Kindley in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 34-19. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Golden Tornado's Aaron Tunstall, who rushed for 129 yards and two scores on only 13 carries, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.
