Soccer Game Preview: Rutland vs. Pike County

Rutland is 0-4 against Pike County since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Rutland Hurricanes will challenge the Pike County Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Rutland has given up an average of 3.2 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Rutland is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Macon County on Tuesday. The Hurricanes' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Pike County's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Callaway by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Pirates' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Pike County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Rutland, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Rutland suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Pike County in their previous matchup back in March of 2020. Can Rutland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
