Softball Recap: North Bend Central Comes Up Short

North Bend Central lost against Boone Central back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered since September 21, 2024.

Emma Rangeloff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North Bend Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madilyn Reese, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

North Bend Central now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Boone Central, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Bend Central will face off against Blue River at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boone Central, they will take on Centura in a tournament on Saturday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Centurions have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
