Baseball Recap: Dardanelle Has No Trouble Against Waldron

Dardanelle got themselves on the board against Waldron on Tuesday, but Waldron never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 13-0 win. The Sand Lizards haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Chase Weatherford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Dardanelle is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-10 otherwise. Weatherford was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ian Branson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Emmanuel Cabral was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Dardanelle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dardanelle's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Waldron, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dardanelle will venture away from home to face off against Morrilton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Waldron, they will head out to take on Mena at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
