Soccer Recap: Moreno Valley Comes Up Short

The Moreno Valley Vikings lost 5-1 to the Colony Titans on Friday. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Melanie Gonzalez, who's now up to six this season.

Moreno Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Colony, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Moreno Valley and Lakeside will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Moreno Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season. As for Colony, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Los Altos at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
