Soccer Game Preview: Garces Memorial vs. San Luis Obispo

The Garces Memorial Rams will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the San Luis Obispo Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Garces Memorial will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Garces Memorial's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Stockdale, sneaking past 1-0. Give the Rams' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Olivia Howlett, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, San Luis Obispo got the win against Santa Monica on Saturday by a conclusive 4-0. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Garces Memorial's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for San Luis Obispo, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Garces Memorial took their win against San Luis Obispo when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Garces Memorial repeat their success, or does San Luis Obispo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
