Basketball Recap: Venice Comes Up Short

Venice lost against Westchester back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Venice Gondoliers had to suffer through a 61-21 loss at the hands of the Westchester Comets. While losing is never fun, the Gondoliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 710th, while the Comets are ranked 68th).

Venice has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-19 record this season. As for Westchester, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Venice will welcome Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hamilton will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Venice surely won't give up without a fight. Westchester has already played their next contest (against Fairfax), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
