Baseball Recap: Bartlett Comes Up Short

After flying high against Prouty on Wednesday, Bartlett came back down to earth. The Indians came up short against the Hopedale Blue Raiders on Friday, falling 10-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 16-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

Bartlett saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Claypool, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. Claypool has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another was Kenny Arpin, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Bartlett has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Hopedale, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-11 record.

Bartlett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hopedale, they will head out to face off against Keefe Tech at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Blue Raiders will need to watch out since the Broncos have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
