Baseball Game Preview: Strong Rock Christian Patriots vs. Calvary Christian Knights

For the second straight game, Strong Rock Christian will face off against Calvary Christian. The Patriots will square off against the Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Strong Rock Christian heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They fell 9-6 to Calvary Christian.

For Calvary Christian's part, Fitz Stone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Calvary Christian is 9-2 when Stone allows three or fewer hits, but 9-11 otherwise. Stone was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Liam Hocutt was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Bryson Brooks was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Calvary Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Strong Rock Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-18.
