Baseball Game Preview: Landmark Christian War Eagles vs. Paideia Pythons

Landmark Christian is 9-1 against Paideia since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Landmark Christian War Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Paideia Pythons at 5:00 p.m. Paideia took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Landmark Christian, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Landmark Christian earned a 7-4 win over King's Ridge Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the War Eagles.

Taylor Casson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Landmark Christian is 3-1 when Casson posts two or more stolen bases, but 2-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Niles Redrick, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Landmark Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Paideia lost 19-4 to Druid Hills on Saturday. The Pythons haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Paideia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Landmark Christian, their record is now 5-6.

Landmark Christian skirted past Paideia 3-2 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Does Landmark Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Paideia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
