Baseball Recap: Ledyard Takes a Loss

Ledyard was the 10-0 winner over St. Bernard when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Colonels fell just short of the Saints by a score of 2-1 on Sunday. The Colonels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jake Nenna was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ledyard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Spinner, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Ledyard's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for St. Bernard, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-6 record.

Coming up, Ledyard will head out to challenge Bacon Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Bernard, they will welcome St. Paul Catholic at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.
