Basketball Game Preview: Madison Warhawks vs. Point Loma Pointers

The Madison Warhawks just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Point Loma Pointers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Point Loma took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Madison, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Madison blew past Orange Glen, posting a 46-14 victory.

Meanwhile, Point Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-21 heartbreaker at the hands of Patrick Henry. While losing is never fun, the Pointers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1134th, while the Patriots are ranked 557th).

Eva Cruz was Point Loma's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Avery Heckman held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.

Madison's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Point Loma, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.

Madison beat Point Loma 44-31 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Madison repeat their success, or does Point Loma have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
