Baseball Recap: Annapolis Comes Up Short

Annapolis had lost four straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped down to 10-13 to make it five. They lost 16-7 to the Trenton Trojans. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Trojans when the teams met back in June of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Trey Grant and Eric Armstrong stepped up to the plate in a big way. Grant went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while Armstrong went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cunningham Dominic, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Trenton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-10. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Trenton's side, Easton Demers made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. Demers has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Trenton beat Annapolis by a score of 18-3 later that day.
