Basketball Recap: Long Beach Poly Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Long Beach Poly had won three straight games and Joy Anderson did her part to make it four on Wednesday. The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits claimed a resounding 80-27 victory over the Cabrillo Jaguars thanks in part to Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Long Beach Poly's points.

Nevaeh Lemons was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played.

Long Beach Poly is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Cabrillo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long Beach Poly will welcome Millikan at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Millikan has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
