Softball Recap: Fort Gibson's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Inola on Thursday, Fort Gibson came back down to earth. The Tigers fell 9-5 to the Kansas Comets on Friday. The loss put an end to the Tigers' undefeated start to the season.

Alyria Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Jayda Wood was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Fort Gibson fell to 2-1.

Coming up, Fort Gibson will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kansas, they will face off against Oktaha at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Comets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
