With a playoff win on the line, Oconee County rose to the challenge on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the LaGrange Grangers 2-1. Winning may never get old, but Oconee County sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.

Alfonso Ruiz and George Foster scored both of Oconee County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Oconee County's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those eight contests. As for LaGrange, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Oconee County beat the Grangers by a score of 2-1 later that day.
