Basketball Recap: Santa Fe Skates Past San Gabriel with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Schurr, Santa Fe was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 58-12 victory over the San Gabriel Matadors. The Chiefs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 29 points or more this season.

Santa Fe found their leader in sophomore Roxy Beltran, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points and four steals. Alexa Gonzalez was another key player, putting up six points.

Santa Fe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Santa Fe's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for San Gabriel, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Santa Fe will be playing in front of their home fans against Garden Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Santa Fe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season. As for San Gabriel, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westridge at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. San Gabriel is facing Westridge at the right time seeing as Westridge is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
