Baseball Recap: McEachern Indians vs. Cherokee Warriors
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, McEachern couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 6-2 to the Cherokee Warriors on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 on Friday.
Ezra Gandy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Malachi Butler made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run.
McEachern's defeat dropped their record down to 24-8. As for Cherokee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-14.
As of now, neither McEachern nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
