Football Recap: Salida Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Salida had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 50-7 loss at the hands of the Buena Vista Demons. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-0.

When it comes to explaining why Salida lost on Friday, don't look at Tyus Winkler. Despite the final result, he rushed for 96 yards and one touchdown.

Buena Vista was led to victory by Casen Pridemore and Hudson Wingo. Pridemore gained 103 total yards and two touchdowns, while Wingo threw for 114 yards and a pair of TDs. Knox Reid got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Salida has already played their next contest, a 27-20 loss against Woodland Park on the 5th. As for Buena Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 54-6 win against Platte Valley on the 5th.
