Football Recap: Salida Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Salida kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Buena Vista Demons and fell 50-7. The Spartans have struggled against the Demons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Salida lost, don't look at Tyus Winkler. Despite the final result, he rushed for 96 yards and one score.

Leading Buena Vista to victory were Casen Pridemore and Hudson Wingo. Pridemore gained 103 total yards and two touchdowns, while Wingo threw for 114 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Knox Reid made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Salida didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-20 loss against Woodland Park on the 5th. As for Buena Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 54-6 victory against Platte Valley on the 5th.
