Baseball Recap: Dirigo Comes Up Short

Oak Hill hit Dirigo with a six-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 back in April.

Trevor Crosby made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Caiden Skidgell also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Dirigo and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Oak Hill, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Coming up, Dirigo will host Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Hill, they will venture away from home to square off against Hall-Dale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
