Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. El Capitan Vaqueros + How To Watch

The Mt. Carmel Sundevils will head out on the road to challenge the El Capitan Vaqueros at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Carmel is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Mt. Carmel lost to Poway at home by a 67-49 margin. The matchup marked the Sundevils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, El Capitan didn't have too much trouble with San Ysidro on Tuesday as they won 49-32.

Mt. Carmel better keep an eye on Trevin Curo. He was instrumental in El Capitan's win, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 22 boards. That's the most points Curo has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Jason Wilson, who put up seven points along with six assists and five rebounds.

El Capitan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Mt. Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for El Capitan, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Mt. Carmel couldn't quite finish off El Capitan in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 and fell 56-53. Thankfully for the Sundevils, Jaqori Harris (who went 12-for-16 en route to 28 points in addition to five boards and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
