Basketball Recap: Kehillah's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

If Kehillah was feeling good fresh off their 38-17 takedown of Mid-Peninsula last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kehillah Rams fell 45-34 to the Jewish Community Wolves on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 41-16 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Kehillah still got an impressive performance from Ariella Sheppard, who posted 22 points. Sheppard is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Noga Kohavi, who scored six points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Kehillah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

The defeat snapped Kehillah's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-2 record. As for Jewish Community, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Kehillah will be playing at home against KIPP Navigate College Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jewish Community, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against San Francisco Waldorf at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
