Sprayberry has gone 6-1 against River Ridge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Yellow Jackets will face off against the Knights at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
While Sprayberry's victory against Creekview wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Yellow Jackets pulled ahead with a 36-35 photo finish over the Grizzlies on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sprayberry to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaden Duckett, who threw for 188 yards and one TD on only 13 passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Kobe Lewis did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 86 receiving yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Sprayberry's defensive line and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Adoniz Vickerstaff, Jack Trout, and Isaac Da Silva, who each picked up one sack apiece. Vickerstaff was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles.
Meanwhile, River Ridge never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over Riverwood. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Raiders are ranked 313th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
River Ridge's win came from a few key players Sprayberry will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Camden Cox, who rushed for 102 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Another back making a difference was Micah Pugh, who gained 74 total yards and two touchdowns.
Sprayberry's record now sits at 6-1. As for River Ridge, their record is now an identical 6-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Sprayberry has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like River Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 185 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Sprayberry came out on top in a nail-biter against River Ridge in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 30-27. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Knights' Ethan Spector, who threw for 263 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in one rushing score. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Yellow Jackets to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
