Basketball Recap: El Diamante Miners vs. Mt. Whitney Pioneers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Immanuel, El Diamante was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mt. Whitney Pioneers 65-17. Given the Miners' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Pioneers are ranked 679th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
El Diamante got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rian Jones-Dillihunt out in front who posted 18 points and seven boards. Jones-Dillihunt is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Angelina Morales, who scored seven points along with ten steals and five assists.
