Basketball Recap: Stockton Christian Comes Up Short

Stockton Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Valley Christian Lions. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 51-28.

Despite the loss, Stockton Christian still got an impressive performance from Jami Araya, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rogue Thames, who scored six points.

Anni Boren was her usual excellent self, putting up 24 points for Big Valley Christian. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Boren has scored at least a third of Big Valley Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Kailey Rivera, who had 12 points.

Stockton Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Big Valley Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.

Stockton Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 40-30 victory against Gustine on the 7th. As for Big Valley Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 31-24 win against Summerville on the 7th.
