Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Upper Dauphin Area's Fifth in Last Six Outings

Upper Dauphin Area won the last time they faced Tri-Valley, and Jordyn Miller did her part to make sure it happened again. The Upper Dauphin Area Trojans took down the Tri-Valley Bulldogs 53-36 on Saturday thanks in part to Miller, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 19 points and three steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Mady Maurer, who posted three points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in rebounds (four).

Despite the loss, Tri-Valley still got an impressive performance from Avery Miller, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 boards. That was a full 58.3% of Tri-Valley's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Faith Artz was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Upper Dauphin Area is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 36.2% in those games and 27.2% outside of them. As for Tri-Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.

Looking ahead, Upper Dauphin Area will host Greenwood at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Greenwood will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Upper Dauphin Area surely won't give up without a fight. Tri-Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
