Basketball Game Preview: Barstow Aztecs vs. Silverado Hawks

Barstow is 2-8 against Silverado since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Barstow Aztecs will host the Silverado Hawks at 5:30 p.m.

Barstow fought the good fight in their overtime match against Victor Valley on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Jackrabbits 57-52. The Aztecs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The losing side was boosted by Emersyn Ebel, who went 8 of 10 on her way to 22 points. Emily Franco was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Silverado escaped with a win on Wednesday against Adelanto by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45.

Barstow's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Silverado, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Barstow was dealt a bruising 77-24 loss at the hands of Silverado in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Barstow was down 55-14.
