Preview: Jamestown Muskies vs. Lakeview Sailors
Jamestown is 0-6 against Lakeview since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Jamestown Muskies will head out on the road to challenge the Lakeview Sailors at 7:00 p.m. Jamestown will be strutting in after a victory while Lakeview will be coming in after a loss.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Jamestown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged Youngsville out 46-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Jamestown has posted yet this season.
Jamestown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Williams, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Williams scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Cadman, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Lakeview's 19-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell to West Middlesex 40-36. Lakeview has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jamestown's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Lakeview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Jamestown took a serious blow against Lakeview in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 58-18. Can Jamestown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
