Soccer Recap: Albany Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Albany has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was the Pinole Valley Spartans who were credited with the win on Tuesday. The Pinole Valley Spartans got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Albany Cougars' two. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Albany's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3-1. As for Pinole Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8-1 record this season.

Albany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pinole Valley, they will head out to square off against El Cerrito at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
