Basketball Recap: Westmont Falls Short of Prospect in the Playoffs

Westmont and Prospect squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Westmont had to settle for second. They took a 48-32 bruising from the Prospect Panthers. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 47-43.

Prospect's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Kumagai led the charge by putting up 17 points. Sadie Slaughter was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

The defeat snapped Westmont's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 19-8 record. As for Prospect, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Westmont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Prospect, they have already played their next game, a 50-30 win against Christopher on the 1st.
