            St. John XXIII was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight  loss. They took a  blow against the Bay Area Christian Broncos, falling  53-13. On the bright side, the 13- point  effort marked the Lions' highest-scoring  contest to date.
 Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed seven in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of  Micah Cohen, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
St. John XXIII's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Bay Area Christian, their win was  their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 5-2.
 St. John XXIII didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  55-12  loss against St. Joseph on the 17th. As for Bay Area Christian, they will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Frassati Catholic at 7:00  p.m.  on  the 24th. This will  be the Broncos' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
