Basketball Recap: Penn Cambria Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Ava Saleme and Avery Lemaster

If Penn Cambria was feeling good fresh off their 52-30 takedown of Richland last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Penn Cambria Panthers took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 59-37 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Penn Cambria's loss came despite strong showings from Avery LeMaster and Ava Saleme. LeMaster went 5 of 7 en route to 15 points, while Saleme posted eight points. Rachel Fisher was another key player, putting up nine points.

Penn Cambria's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

Penn Cambria will challenge Central at 3:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Bishop Guilfoyle, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-39 win against Bellwood-Antis on the 23rd.
