Softball Recap: Whitefield Academy Takes a Loss

Whitefield Academy dropped down to 8-6 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the King's Ridge Christian Tigers by a score of 4-3. The WolfPack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for King's Ridge Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For King's Ridge Christian's part, Annabel Terry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Emmie Fratesi and Kate Greiner did most of the damage at the plate: Fratesi went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Greiner went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Coming up, Whitefield Academy will square off against Landmark Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for King's Ridge Christian, they will face off against Mount Paran Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
