Preview: Bradford Owls vs. Brookville Raiders
Bradford has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Brookville Raiders at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
While Bradford couldn't quite beat Port Allegany on Monday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 20-point defeat they were dealt last Thursday. Bradford fell just short of Port Allegany by a score of 32-29. Bradford has not had much luck with Port Allegany recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, Brookville ended up a good deal behind Punxsutawney on Tuesday and lost 51-36. While losing is never fun, Brookville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 351st, while Punxsutawney is ranked 53rd).
Bradford's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Brookville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.
Things could have been worse for Bradford, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-35 loss to Brookville in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Bradford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
