Football Recap: West Franklin Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Franklin can now relate to. They were dealt an 80-0 defeat at the hands of the Nemaha Central Thunder on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Thunder are ranked 32nd).

Carter Hajek had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 91 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 111 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes for Nemaha Central. Hajek is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in three or more in each of the last three games he's played.

West Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Nemaha Central, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

West Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nemaha Central, they will look to defend their home field on the 7th against Council Grove at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Thunder 11.1, the Braves 13.3) so any points scored will be well earned.
