Baseball Game Preview: Elwood Panthers vs. Pike Red Devils

The Elwood Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Pike Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elwood is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Elwood didn't have quite enough to beat Tipton and fell 3-2.

Keeghan Davenport spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.

At the plate, Elwood saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bracken Jetty, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Pike had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Speedway by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday.

Pike also got a great performance from Stiven Henriquez as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Henriquez a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joe Williams, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Pike's record now sits at 8-10-1. As for Elwood, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
