Basketball Recap: Farmersville Takes a Loss

Farmersville lost against Strathmore back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Farmersville Aztecs fell 48-39 to the Strathmore Spartans. The Aztecs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Farmersville still got an impressive performance from Janessa Garza, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 boards. Garza has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Karlene Veleta, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Farmersville's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Strathmore, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-5.

Farmersville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-39 defeat against Parlier on the 11th. As for Strathmore, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 37-31 loss against Tulare Union on the 10th.
