Recap: Tamaqua Blue Raiders vs. Lehighton Indians
If the Tamaqua Blue Raiders were feeling good off their 55-23 takedown of the Tri-Valley Bulldogs last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tamaqua fell 44-31 to Lehighton on Monday. Tamaqua was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lehighton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Tamaqua's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lorelei Plasha, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Sarah Hope was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.
Tamaqua's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Lehighton, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Tamaqua will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Jim Thorpe at 5:30 p.m. Jim Thorpe comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Lehighton, they will head out on the road to take on Pottsville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pottsville is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
