Softball Game Preview: Pinewood Christian Patriots vs. Tiftarea Academy Panthers

The Pinewood Christian Patriots will square off against the Tiftarea Academy Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

Pinewood Christian heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Thursday. They lost 10-4 to Terrell Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Patriots have suffered since August 29th.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Tiftarea Academy faced off against Piedmont Academy on Thursday. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Cougars 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since August 8th.

Tiftarea Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Vickery, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Chloe Brand also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Tiftarea Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pinewood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Tiftarea Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
