Basketball Recap: Granite Bay Grizzlies vs. Del Oro Golden Eagles
Granite Bay lost against Del Oro back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Granite Bay Grizzlies had to suffer through a 50-22 loss at the hands of the Del Oro Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 459th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 100th).

Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alli Powell, who posted six points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Powell is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kati Powell, who had 12 points and six boards.
Granite Bay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 18 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Del Oro, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.
Granite Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Del Oro, they will host West Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Oro is facing West Park at the right time seeing as West Park is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
