Soccer Game Preview: Camanche vs. Davenport West

The Camanche Indians will challenge the Davenport West Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Camanche's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 11 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Camanche's offense. They came up short against Davenport North on Thursday, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, Camanche can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Davenport North are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Davenport West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 11-2 to Bettendorf. That's two games in a row now that Davenport West have lost by exactly nine goals.

Davenport West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Camanche, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.

Camanche suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Davenport West in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
