Basketball Recap: Tatyana Aubry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Leuzinger over Culver City

If Leuzinger was feeling good fresh off their 63-23 takedown of Beverly Hills last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Leuzinger Olympians took a 70-56 bruising from the Culver City Centaurs on Monday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Olympians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-47 last Saturday.

Leuzinger lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tatyana Aubry, who posted 26 points. The match was Aubry's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brianna Ike, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards.

Even though they lost, Leuzinger smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Leuzinger's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Culver City, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Leuzinger nor Culver City have any future games scheduled.
