Baseball Recap: Springboro Comes Up Short

Springboro had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 20-7 to make it four. They fell 4-0 to the Oak Hills Highlanders. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

As for Oak Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games.

For Oak Hills' part, not much got past Ryan Murphy, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Springboro off the board. Murphy has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Oak Hills saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kellen Gantzer, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As of now, neither Springboro nor the Highlanders have any future games scheduled.
