Softball Recap: Glenwood Rams vs. Roland-Story Norsemen

Glenwood extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 9-14 in the process. They came up short against the Roland-Story Norsemen, falling 12-4. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Norsemen apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

As for Roland-Story, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Roland-Story's part, Miley Geise made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Geise was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Roland-Story got a massive performance out of Evelyn Carlson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Carlson a new career-high. Keely Oberender was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Glenwood will head out on the road to challenge Kuemper at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Roland-Story, they will welcome Grinnell at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
