Softball Recap: Miller Grove Wins Going Away Against Tucker

The matchup between Miller Grove and Tucker on Thursday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Wolverines blew past the Tigers 29-6. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Armonie Morrison, who fired off two home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. JaNiya Smith was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and two RBI.

Miller Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .829. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .639 or higher in four consecutive games.

Miller Grove's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Tucker, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Miller Grove will welcome Mundy's Mill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. Tucker does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
